1. Get Educated on the issue of creation versus evolution.
One of the most important things Christians need to do today is to realize that evolution is an anti-God religion. As Christians, we must recognize and deal with the tremendous harm that the teaching of evolution is doing to our society. We also need to understand how harmful the Christian compromises with evolution are to the church and it's ability to effectively share the Gospel message of salvation. The best way to be prepared to defend the authority and accuracy of God's Word is to get educated on both the Biblical and scientific evidences for a young, created universe. Many good materials exist today to help Christians get themselves up-to-speed on the latest information concerning this important issue. For just a small sample, see what's available at the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries.
Give creation materials as birthday, Christmas, etc. gifts.
This is one of the most important things we can do. So often we give gifts that have only temporary benefit to the recipient. Gifts that help to strengthen the faith of others are gifts that keep on giving for all of eternity. We suggest ordering the catalogs of some of the major creation organizations like Answers in Genesis ministries group,
Apologetics Press, Inc. ,Center for Scientific Creation, Christian Answers, Creation Research, Science Education Foundation (CRSEF) - (in Columbus, OH),
Creation Research Society, and Institute for Creation Research. If you're looking for some good materials to start with as gifts, we can make the following recommendations:
1. A gift subscription to Creation ex nihilo magazine. If there are high-schooler's in the home, also its sister publication Creation Ex Nihilo Technical Journal.
2. The videos titled A Question of origins creation or evolution, Mount St. Helens, Sears/Thompson debate on the age of the earth, and The Genesis Solution.
3. For adults and teenagers, books called Basic Bible Interpretation, Bones of contention : a creationist assessment of human fossils , Creation evangelism for the new millennium, Christian Evidences, Dinosaurs by design, Genesis and the decay of the nations , Refuting Evolution, Starlight and Time, The answers book,
The early earth : an introduction to Biblical creation, The evolution conspiracy, The great dinosaur mystery and the Bible (available as a book or video), the Lie : Evolution and What really happened to the dinosaurs?.
Support creation scientists research.
Because the false religion of evolution has such a stranglehold on the academic community, it is impossible for creation scientists to get tax dollars or large grants to conduct their research. There is much more they can offer to the rest of us in the way of scientific evidence to refute evolution and support special creation by God if they had the financial resources to do more research. Here are a few such research organizations that we currently know about. As we find out about more, we'll add them to this list.
Please consider giving generously to their efforts. One way we decided to start supporting these and other important Christian ministries was to eliminate all giving to secular organizations. Years ago, we contributed large amounts of money to the United Way campaign. However, when the Boy Scouts stood firm on their policy to not admit atheists, the United Way used money we donated as clout against the Boy Scouts. Since then, we have not given a penny to their organization. We are not suggesting that everything the United Way and other secular organizations do is bad like this. However, as Christians, we believe we should always put Christian organizations first when considering how we'll spend our money for charity. Remember, all that we own, including every penny we ever make is owned by God, not by us. We need to make sure we're making good use of all the resources that he's blessed us with, and that we are first and foremost using it to glorify Him. We believe that with this country slipping deeper and deeper into mass apostasy, that we need to be diverting as much of our resources towards supporting Christians like those in the creation movement to help slow down or reverse these dangerous trends in our society and churches today.
Get creation materials into your local libraries.
Many people have the mistaken belief that because of the alleged separation of church and state (the framers of the constitution never meant for this to be), that Christian materials are not allowed in public libraries. In fact, they are allowed and legal action can be taken against libraries that refuse to put them in. However, we don't recommend that approach except as a very last resort. There is a real need to get more creation materials into our local libraries. One way to get them in much faster is to donate them. Then promote all the creation materials so that they get used. Unused materials will not remain on the shelves. We'd like to encourage Christians in the Columbus metropolitan area to get the following materials, at a minimum, in EVERY branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library system. In some cases a few branches have the materials, but not all.

Get creationi materials into your church library.
Churches that are intent on defending the authority of the Bible from evolutionary attacks will find themselves dealing with the problem on two different fronts; scientific and Biblical. The plain reading of the Genesis creation account strongly suggests that God created the universe in six approximately 24-hour days, with no gaps in between. Further study suggests that this all happened about 6,000 years ago. In spite of the Bible's obvious meaning concerning the events surrounding creation, many people object to interpreting the Bible this way. The main reason they are uncomfortable with the Bible account is because they believe that scientists have proven evolution so well, that it calls into question the whole Genesis account of creation. Pastors are trained in theology and Bible interpretation. They are usually not trained scientists. Yet the stumbling block that gets in the way of many people today of accepting the authority and accuracy of the Bible is coming from proponents of the false religion of evolution in the form of misleading, inaccurate scientific information. Churches need to deal with the scientific objections that people have.
Many Christians have experienced years of evolutionary theory brainwashing in the public schools. Churches also need to deal with the misguided Bible interpretation issues that arise when some of these well-meaning Christians attempt to force evolution into the Bible. If a church has a well-stocked library of young Earth creation materials, they can help people like this to get the opposing view that they were never allowed to see in the public schools or the liberal news media. We believe it is extremely important for churches today to invest in these materials. The non-Christian people they minister to today are not well-grounded in the Bible like they used to be when the Bible and Christianity were still allowed in the public schools. Churches need to start from scratch by first disproving the false religion of evolution and giving people hope that they can indeed believe in the Genesis account of creation without feeling like they're intellectual outcasts. The best way for churches to do this is to have good materials on hand for people to study, and to promote them heavily. We would encourage churches to purchase the same materials as were suggested above for the public libraries.
Put pressure on the news media to stop their one-sided reporting on the issue.
We have focused primarily on the Columbus Dispatch's propaganda campaign on behalf of evolutionists. While they are the major offenders in the Columbus area that we've seen, they are by no means the only ones engaged in this kind of activity. There are many ways we can bring pressure to bear on those like the Dispatch who continue to ignore our side of this issue. We have chosen this web site and the programs we air on Community 21 as some of the ways we counter the Dispatch's propaganda. But there are ways that all of us can become involved. Probably the most important thing is to get involved in grass-root efforts in your local churches, or start creation clubs. Also, pray about what else God might have you to do to put more pressure on the Dispatch and others to start allowing some of the big-league creationists to have at least as much space in their paper to present our side of the issue as they give evolutionists.
Give creation materials to teachers, students and parents.
Science teachers in general tend to object to watering down the teaching of evolutionary theory in any way. There are also a lot of parents who agree with them. However, both these science teachers and the parents who support them are in the minority as far as whether or not creation should be allowed in the public schools. Most people want it to be available for students to learn in the schools. To start getting past the objections of these teachers and parents, we need to starting sharing good materials with them that point out the major flaws that evolution has. Two very good resources to give to teachers and parents to help them to see they've been brainwashed into believing in a false religion are Refuting Evolution (a book) and A Question of origins creation or evolution (a video). This video will be airing on Community 21 cable TV in November, 1999. See our program schedule for information about airing dates and times. We strongly encourage Christians everywhere to get copies of these materials and start giving them out. The Refuting Evolution book will be made available to you at huge discounts if you'll pass them out to teachers and students at schools.
Pray for those who are on the front-lines defending God's Word.
When reading about people like Martin Luther, we are impressed with the courage he demonstrated in the face of great opposition. Those who are leading modern day creation movement are in many ways like Martin Luther. They face strong opposition from government, the scientific community and unfortunately many churches and church leaders who have compromised with evolutionists. They are, in our opinion, modern day Martin Luther's. They include such men as Dr. Steven A. Austin, Dr. Duane Gish, Ken Ham, Bert Thompson, Ph.D, Dr. Andrew A. Snelling, Dr. Carl Wieland, , Dr. Henry M. Morris, Dr. Gary Parker, Jonathan D. Sarfati, Ph.D, F.M., Paul S. Taylor and many other Creation scientists. In the midst of a sea of apostasy they shine like bright lights to help light the way for the rest of us. With so many pastors and churches AWOL on this issue, these men of extraordinary courage and conviction stand strong against a flood of evolutionist propaganda and personal attacks to help the rest of us see the reality of what evolution is doing our our society, and how it's poisoning so many of our churches. We all owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. Please remember to keep them in your prayers.
Pray for those who oppose us.
A friendly reminder given in love to our Christian brothers and sisters. We understand that many of you are frustrated by the blatant attacks that often occur against our faith and us personally by the Columbus Dispatch, other media outlets, the public schools and the scientific community. While it's important that we take a stand and refute that which opposes our Creator's Word, we must also never forget to pray for those who oppose us. The suffering that they cause us and others in this life is no where near what is in store for many of them when they eventually must answer to the God they devoted so much time and energy to mocking. Please remember that we ALL started off in disobedience and rebellion towards our God, and that only by His grace and sacrifice will we be spared the fate that awaits many of these people who promote the false religion of evolution. While we work with the guidance of the Holy Spirit to deal with the tremendous damage they are causing to our society, let us also remember the love shown towards us by others who prayed for us when we were blinded by our own sins and unbelief. Let us take the high road and try to do our best to stay on it at all times when dealing with those who oppose God's Holy Word.
Air creation programs on local cable access channels and network stations.
There are currently two creation organizations airing programs on Community 21. We would welcome assistance from other young Earth creationists to produce our shows. We would also like to see other young Earth creationists perhaps airing their own programs on Community 21. Even better, we'd like to see some of the really good creation videos like A Question of origins creation or evolution get aired on some local network stations. If you're interested in helping out, E-mail us. If you're interested in helping out our other brothers and sisters in Christ who also air creation programs on Community 21, contact them at the AlphaNova web site.
